Project Background

In need for a coffee table, I found an old circle of plywood and decided to create a flower-shaped table to suit my needs. First I sketched out my design before transferring it to a blueprint to then trace onto the wood.
After I had my design traced, I used the bandsaw and scroll saw to cut out the shape. Using a mix of hand sanding, rotary sanding, and belt sanding, I got the shape down to smooth edges.
Then, I took a long piece of wood and cut it into the three legs. Screwing through the top down into the legs, I bolted the table together and used wood filler to hide any of my screw marks.
Finally, I painted the table top and applied a water resistant finish to protect the surface from scrapes.
